Britt’s character impresses at Nike Opening

Oxford’s K.J. Britt has done plenty on the football field to shine a positive light on Oxford football.

He’s one of the most sought after linebackers in the country as a four-star prospect after he finished his junior season with 126 tackles and 22 tackles for adidas yeezy 350 Nearly every SEC school wants him as well as a host of other schools from across the country.

All of his accomplishments earned him an invite to the prestigious Nike Opening Finals in Oregon last week.

His performance at the Nike headquarters brought plenty of pride back to the Yellow Jackets and Calhoun County as he earned first team defensive honors.

However, his play on the field wasn’t the best thing he did at the camp. Instead it was his character off it.

Two reporters from the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Jeff Sentell and Zach Abolverdi, posted on Twitter about how Britt stayed after all the other player’s left and talked with two young fans attending the camp.

Oxford assistant girls basketball coach Cade Somers responded to the tweet by saying how that was not uncharacteristic for Britt to do: “Does same everywhere he goes, including w/my own kids. Even better a trait than his football skills (Prv22.1)”

Oxford head football coach Ryan Herring has said Britt’s character off the field is one big reason why he has success on it and why he’s in the prime position he is now.

Britt attending The Opening was big for Oxford and Calhoun County as he was only the second player to earn an invite. He didn’t disappoint while he was there.

In less than a month,"air jordan sale" Britt is scheduled to make his announcement of where he’ll play college football.

Whichever school is fortunate enough to secure his signature is getting much more than a talented football player, but a quality person as well.
